Importance of Electrolytes while Intermittent Fasting and How to Combat Weakness or Lack of Energy

While into your fasting you may notice your energy going down and overall weakness. This is due to depletion of electrolytes in your body. Here are a few ways to fix this issue while fasting.

What is electrolyte water?

Electrolyte water is infused with sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium. It hydrates your body unlike water only.

How to combat low energy during intermittent fasting

  1. Add a tea spoon of sea salt to a glass of water and slowly drink it.
    You may add some squeezed lemon juice to imrpove the taste. It must be a raw lemon squeezed juice not from concentrate or other juices.
  2. Get electolyte water from your grocery shop.
    A good electolyte water should contain potasium, magnesium and sodium.
  3. Make your own electrolyte water.

Keep hydrated while intermittent fasting. Drink water and or water with salt every few hours. This is one of the most important steps to keep your body energized and hydrated throught fasting.

As you fast your body gets depleted of electrolytes therefore you need to replenish electrolytes to keep energized and hydrated by drinking electrolyte water.
